The highlight of the renovations was the addition of the Baseball Boardwalk. Made of 19,000 square feet of wooden planks, the boardwalk spans the entire outfield.
The original plan called for the berm to be built around the outfield. But "in reality we just could not afford to build an earth berm entirely around the outfield," said David Wood of HOK Sport, the architectural firm that redesigned the ballpark. "Plus with the reclaim storm water lakes right next to the park the water table would not allow it either."
