Inaugural Game at AT&T Park
No matter was it has been called, San Francisco's bayfront ballpark has been a beauty since it opened on April 11, 2000. That was the day this panoramic photo was taken. In perfectly clarity you have a sweeping view of everything inside the ballpark, then called Pacific Bell Park, on its first Opening Day. That includes the Giants' Kirk Rueter throwing a third inning pitch to Todd Hundley of the Dodgers. The pitch can actually be seen in mid-flight as the Giants defense readied for action on their distinctive Kentucky bluegrass field. But it's the ballpark, not the players, that stars in this panorama, highlights of which include the brick wall in right, the walkway above it, and the oversized baseball glove and Coke bottle in left field.
