Kauffman Stadium - True Blue Tradition
It was an unseasonably warm day when the Royals opened their 2007 season at home against the eventual world champion Red Sox. This panoramic poster was taken 12 minutes before the first pitch during pregame ceremonies honoring the proud tradition of the Royals. In perfect clarity you can see the Royals in their home whites lining the first base line, where the starters have been joined by children of active-duty servicemen from Fort Riley. The infield base paths are lined with heroes from Kansas City's past, including the only two players to have their number retired by the Royals (George Brett and Frank White).
Perhaps one of the most vivid photographs world renowned photographer Rob Arra has ever taken, Kauffman Stadium never looked better than it did on this 80-degree afternoon in front of the third-largest Opening Day crowd in team history. Everything Royals fans love about "The K" can be seen in this poster, including its signature features: the logo-shaped scoreboard, waterfalls and fountains. The print is so crisp that you can even see trucks passing by the stadium on I-70. All in all, it's a splendid scene of a splendid ballpark!
