Professional Ballparks Abandoned Since 1999

This is a complete list of all ballparks abandoned by major league teams and their minor league affiliates from 1999 through 2009. Some have since been demolished, others are still standing but vacant, and a handful are now used by independent or collegiate teams. The table below lists the most generally recognized name of the ballpark, its location, the year it opened and was abandoned, and its current status.

Shea Stadium was one of 17 former pro ballparks to be abandoned and completely demolished during the 10-year period that spanned 1999-2009. Shea was home to the Mets from 1964-2008 and was the last major league ballpark to be used simultaneously by two teams, as the Yankees played there in 1974-75 while their stadium was being renovated.
