Exceptional detail has gone into this handmade, limited edition sculpture of Shea Stadium, the longtime home of the New York Mets. The stadium is just as you remember it, with the Mets' home run apple, big outfield scoreboards, and even the light towers positioned perfectly. Every aspect of the stadium's exterior is captured in all of its splendor.
Made from a patented mixture of crushed stone and pine tar resin that allows for fine detail, the miniature Shea Stadium is hand-painted and then sealed with a polyurethane coating. The replica stadium is even filled with fans wearing Mets colors, just like it was on game day!
Licensed by Major League Baseball, this replica is a "Final Pitch" edition that was released in 2008 to celebrate Shea's final season. Production is limited to 4,750, and each replica is individually numbered on a brass plate displayed on its base and comes with a collector's certificate. The red "Final Pitch" sticker placed on the replica lists the years the stadium was used. The sticker is on a metal plate that can be removed if desired.
